Provence is one of the most visited and appreciated destinations in France. Indeed, whether in summer as part of individual tourism, or during the rest of the year by companies wishing to organize a residential seminar in the South. Its living environment and Mediterranean climate are factors that play an important role in this appreciation. Many companies select Provence for their professional event for this reason but also for its great cultural and natural heritage.

Provence, an ideal destination for a seminar

More and more companies are deciding to organize their corporate seminar in the South, and more specifically in Provence. This decision allows employees to enjoy a slight holiday atmosphere, and above all a real break from the usual professional routine.

The sun is also known to have an impact on productivity and professional life more generally.

Moreover, the majority of professional events organized in this region are incentive seminars, to congratulate employees for a certain period of time.

Accommodation establishments are used to receiving groups of companies as part of their seminars. They also offer personalized services, in line with the requests and needs of your company, and therefore personalized quotes. Most also have spaces so that your teams can meet as part of a study day, to set new objectives for example. Across this relatively large region, you will find different establishments, capable of welcoming your company, even if you have a large team.

Regardless of the city where your company is based, you can access Provence relatively easily, because it is a well-served region. For example, you can arrive by train at the Aix-en-Provence TGV station, Marseille or Nice, depending on the Provençal part you want to visit with your employees. For companies based further away, you can also arrive by plane at the airport of Marseille or Nice.

In any case, you will find the ideal place that corresponds to your company's research, and especially in the ideal setting under the Provençal sun.

What places to visit during your corporate seminar in Provence?

Provence is full of different places, each rich in culture that you can discover with your teams.

You can organize a team building activity with your teams in the city center of Aix-en-Provence. This city, with its typical Provençal charm, is, along with Marseille, one of the largest and most cosmopolitan cities in the region. You will find many classic or more original activities, some of which, such as treasure hunts in the city or a photo challenge, allow your teams to visit and discover this city while strengthening ties with their colleagues at the same time.

In order to discover the more typical Provence, you can book with your teams a visit to the Carrières des Lumières in Baux de Provence, and take the opportunity to organize a visit to the village which is one of the most typical of Provence.

You can also attend an introductory and demonstration workshop on glassblowing in the village of Biot, known worldwide for its glassblowers. In addition to the charm of this village, your employees will be marked by this atypical experience during a corporate seminar.

You can also visit the largest Canyon in Europe during this seminar: the Gorges du Verdon. With your teams you can for example book a slot to go rafting on the Verdon or Kayak for a quieter activity. If you are afraid of being cold, there are via ferrata and climbing routes along the gorges, be careful for employees who are afraid of heights. After this activity which will have strengthened the links within your company, you can visit Moustier Sainte-Marie, and climb up to the chapel to appreciate the hanging star more closely.

If you organize your seminar during the period May-July, you can discover the lavender fields in bloom on the Valensole plateau.

You can of course organize a trip to Marseille, an ideal destination for a corporate event and discover its different districts, museums or typical dishes.

You can also organize a hike in one of the many protected natural areas of the region, whether it is a physical activity such as that of Sainte-Victoire, or a quieter one such as along a stream. Thus, you can discover the local fauna and flora.

You can after a half-day of study, spend the afternoon in the Colorado Provençal with your teams, an atypical natural area with very pigmented rocks and streams all around. It is a protected natural area with a limited number of daily visitors, so it is important to book a slot for your employees if you wish to go there.

Our recommendations for a successful seminar in Provence

First of all, it is important that you choose the destination that corresponds to your company. If you are looking for easy access, Aix en Provence is the ideal city, transport is easy and everything is nearby.  It is a more active city so it is possible to enjoy its dynamic and cosmopolitan setting with your employees. If you are looking for a quiet stay with your teams away from this urban bustle, you can search around villages such as Baux de Provence, Valensole or Collobrières, where many establishments offer specialized group reception in a more typical setting.

In order to find the ideal place and have as many choices as possible, the ideal is to do it in advance. In addition, depending on the seasons this destination is also touristy with individuals, so as soon as you have decided to organize your corporate seminar in Provence, you can start your research with Alfred Meeting and receive the first quotes.

The ideal is also to avoid organizing this event during the period July-August when tourists are very present in this sunny region, which can therefore make the corporate stay less pleasant. From a budget point of view, prices will also be higher during this period when demand is higher.

If your company is available, the period from April to June or from the end of August to October is the ideal time for a seminar in Provence. Temperatures remain pleasant, activity providers still offer their services, however there are many fewer individual tourists.

It is also important that you book group activities in advance, especially those where privatization is necessary beforehand to have as many choices as possible.

If you can, also look for destinations that correspond to the Provence that you want to discover, is it rather the “city” part with Aix-en-Provence, rather towards the Mediterranean Sea or the more rural and typical one like Les Baux de Provence?

Finally, document your professional event well and then communicate about it, because it can enhance the image of your company and its internal and external image.
