How can my event become eco-responsible?

The organization of professional events is an opportunity to convey a number of civic messages and transmit an image of your company to your employees. The friendly setting is ideal for sharing your environmental concerns, your new ecological approach but above all your eco-responsible commitment; a dynamic that is at the heart of current events.
Today, we are all aware of the problems related to the environment and the impact of our activity on the planet.
Here are all the tips from Alfred Meeting to organize ever greener events!

Find a committed place with environmental standards and labels

Our first advice is to choose a seminar location close to you, to reduce the impact of transport. A place close to your company and your partners.
Choose a place in harmony with its environment and with the identity of your event: ecolodge, ecohotel, mountain chalet...

Pay attention to the official certifications that can guide you in your choice, such as the HQE label (High Environmental Quality), the Ecolabel or the Green Key. The Alfred Meeting team can also recommend places to you.
Finally, if you have to travel, choose a means of collective transport: think of train, bus, or carpooling and limit individual car journeys.

The catering

An eco-responsible seminar also happens on your plate! During an eco-friendly seminar, you should favor products from responsible agriculture, whether it is labeled Organic, Nature et Progrès or Demeter.
Whenever possible, local and seasonal products should be consumed. This is preferable to products imported from distant countries by boat or plane.

Your host venue, if sensitive to the ecological issue, will certainly be able to offer you suitable menus. If not, do not hesitate to turn to committed caterers, such as Le Cercle or les Marmites.
Remember to limit plastic bottles during the meeting and use returnable glass bottles or water fountains. You should also limit plastic and cardboard cups by replacing them with glasses or mugs.
Place sorting bins and involve your employees in the process.

Eco-responsible Team building activities

Many eco-responsible team building activities exist and are still too little known!
An agricultural team-building to plant, dig or milk cows (many farms or castles offer this type of activity); plant trees with ReforestAction.

A recycling team building that will allow you to express your creativity based on recycled objects (to make musical instruments, furniture, etc.), collecting waste in the Bay of Somme, etc.
Opt for sports and creative activities (such as painting, sculpture...) outdoor activities, sports activities (such as golf, molkky)

Organize a gardening workshop and raise awareness among your colleagues about biodiversity, agriculture or urban greening. Create a terrarium and learn how to make your own little indoor garden. More unusual, learn the Green Tag.
